Piston soldering is a selective soldering process based on the controlled combination of regulated wire feeding and precise temperature control, with the aim of creating high-quality, reproducible and reliable solder joints. Precise, controlled and reproducible piston soldering from EUTECT
At the beginning, the soldering iron is automatically guided to the defined soldering position. This ensures constant heat transfer.
A central element of the EUTECT process is the Sensitive Wire Feeder (SWF). This system enables force- and path-monitored wire feeding in real time, with the following added values:
- The exact amount of solder is applied in a controlled manner
- Wire kinking or uncontrolled slipping is prevented
- Even the smallest solder joints can be reliably wetted
Thanks to the intelligent control, the system recognises deviations immediately and corrects them automatically. The solder joint is then heated with pinpoint accuracy. In contrast to flat processes, heat is only transferred where it is needed. Advantages of this selective energy input:
- Protection of thermally sensitive components
- Minimisation of thermal load on neighbouring components
- Reduction of distortion or material stress
